British Smoothie Champion 2009 is crowned…

Richard Debson from Shaketastic wowed both the audience and judges at the live finals at the British Smoothie Championships to be crowned the winner! 12 competitors battled it out for the title in a thrilling battle of the barista’s however Richard’s delicious ‘Detox Smoothie’, combining mint, freshly squeezed apple juice, melon and cucumber, allowed him to walk away with the top prize of a Blendtec blender worth over £750 and £250 cash.

In a hard fought contest, Richard’s smoothie just edged runner up Heidi O’Sullivan’s drink ‘You’re Cherry Fit’. The barista from the Crussh chain of juice bars used cherries, mango, frozen yoghurt, aloe vera juice, apple juice and a touch of banana, earning her a £150 prize.
