Wow. We’re just coming back down to earth after our massive Mill Hill bar’s sixth anniversary event on Sunday.
A huge crowd turned up and we gave away hundreds of ShakeTastic goodies along with loads of free shakes.
Big congrats goes to Sam Juter and Jed Lesser who were the first people through the doors. The boys got there early and beat queues which wouldn’t have been out of place at the launch of a new iPhone.
We held a competition on the day to name the character we’ve created along with the great team at YoYoFactory. The winning name was Mr YoTastic and we’ll be making sure you see a lot more of him over the next few weeks and months.
The whole place went down with yo-yo mania after seeing champion performers Ann Connolly and Vaishek Kroutil rock some crazy skills on the stage. The dynamic duo got people up on stage and shared their amazing techniques while teaching them some wicked new tricks.
Extreme unicyclist display team, Voodoo Unicyclists, were also an enormous hit with the crowds. We had the World Record holder for unicycle jumps do some stunts that had to be seen to be believed. He even cycled down railings 10 feet high and barely wider than his wheel leaving people speechless.
The Delorean car from the Back to the Future movies had a constant buzz about it throughout the day.
Callie Davis told us how much she and her friends enjoyed the event, she said: “I go to the Mill Hill bar quite a lot and this event was just awesome. I loved the unicyclists and even managed to get some free ShakeTastic goodies.”
Our founder Amir said: “It was brilliant to see so many people enjoying themselves and it was definitely the biggest event we’ve ever held. The crowd was even bigger than we expected and we’d just like to say a massive thank you for everyone who joined us to share our sixth birthday. Our team worked incredibly hard and both Josh and I want to say a huge thanks to them.”
Co-Founder Josh added: “Big love to everyone who came and waited patiently for their free drinks. Unfortunately some people did jump the queues at a couple of points during the day and we apologise for that.
“Sadly Fleur East didn’t turn up as planned. But I want to join Amir in thanking all of the performers, our team and most importantly all of you guys for being there with us and making it a memorable day.”
Till next time stay safe and keep drinking whatever it is your thinking.
Peace,
Josh and Amir
